J’Tar

Curran is the Zanath Kings brother and protector. There is a tradition in the royal family that the protectors have to magically merge with a large jungle cat called a Jaxtar. This makes him a magical being that is called a J’Tar; he can be cat or man at will. Both sides of him are entwined, and make him the man he is. Unfortunately, other people as well as his own, are deeply superstitious. Curran is sure he will never be able to find a mate that will accept him, as he is both the Jaxtar and the man.

Amara has come with the Forian ambassador and his wife to discuss the poaching of the Jaxtar cats on Zanath’s and Forian’s border. Forian’s don’t see the problem with it, but the King of Zanath sees it as such a large problem that he is calling this meeting. Amara has come as the ambassador’s wife’s bodyguard. When she comes to the court with them for the first time, she sees Curran and is instantly attracted to him. When she finds out just exactly what he is, she isn’t sure that she can handle the part of him that is Jaxtar.

J’Tar has a lot of characters in it that are very interesting, but none of them are more intriguing than Curran. He is insecure in himself, and sure that no one but his brother can accept him as he is. Amara is a strong woman who will let no one make up her mind for her. She loves Curran, but the animal side of him scares her. The sex is intense and passionate, with the two lovers fighting their feelings and whether or not they will stay together. Shay Lacy has created an erotic world with some interesting twists and turns. If you like your books hot, you will definitely like this one.
