At the Mercy of Her Pleasure sends us into a futuristic world where slavery and drug addiction are common place. It’s the story of two brothers, Senth and Khyffen. Born to slavery both men are enslaved to their Masters by drugs, sex and the fear of loosing the other.

Senth is sweet and innocent, an adorable boy trapped in the gorgeous body of a man. He’s kept sweet and innocent by his Master, Saint-Cyn. Senth has used his extraordinary skills as a Union Thief to make a fortune for Saint-Cyn and the Master will do anything to keep him under his control, including keeping him pumped full of the sex inhibiting drug, Shackle.

That is until he meets, NarrAy Jorlan and is hired by the Captain to steal a precious piece of technology. A thing her parents died to protect but the Conqueror of the Known Universe will do anything to gain! NarrAy needs Senth, but as a Better – a genetically engineered human with addictive pheromones – she needs him for more than just his skills as a Thief.

From the moment she lays eyes on Senth she knows she must do whatever is in her power to free him; Not only from Shackle and His Master but from his own naiveté as a virgin.

Kayelle Allen’s world in this book is fabulous. Her ability to bring a universe to life for the reader’s is excellent. The story is well written, drawing the reader in and keeping them guessing from page one until the very end. She’s brought us mystery, political intrigue and twists and turns that will keep you enraptured even beyond the last page.

The plot for At the Mercy of Her Pleasure is solid, fantastical and well within the plausibility for Mrs. Allen’s futuristic world. The only small suggestion I could possibly make to enhance the work would be to add a dictionary of terms somewhere within the pages. There were a few times, during the read, that this reviewer became confused with Mrs. Allen’s uses but it didn’t distract from the story for long.

On the overall this story is a strong, firm introduction into a futuristic world that is a pleasure to read and enjoy. Mrs. Allen brings all the characters to life with a grand style that will leave you panting for more. Her sex scenes are steamy, erotic and very pleasurable and worked well with the overall plot. They never overshadowed the story on the whole, but only enhanced it for the reader.
