In Ice

In order to earn her brother’s freedom, Aidan’s been given two choices: infiltrate badass Reed Landrig’s home, steal a globe and return it to another badass name Balten or become Balten’s mistress. Since there’s no way in hell she’s going to become the very scary Balten’s mistress, she’s going to call in a favor owed to her by Warrick the Enforcer.

Warrick the Enforcer is the right hand man to Reed Landrig. When Aidan approaches him because she needs help, he jumps at the chance to help Aiden out. He’s been in lust with her since they met.

In order to get Aidan into Reed’s fortress they agree to act as a couple. The problem is that War’s not sure how she’ll handle his scarred appearance. Since she doesn’t like to be touched, Aidan’s not sure if she can handle him touching her.

Set amidst revenge and betrayal, loyalty and love, In Ice is very good story. The characters are believable. The skuzzy descriptions of Reed and Balten make readers cringe. Warrick’s pain over his appearance and his desire to hide his true appearance from the world leave readers feeling empathetic. Aidan’s desire to save her brother and to insure Warrick’s safety will be lauded. The secret of the globe is interesting and reinforces the reader’s dislike of Balten. The question Ms. Wyndfield raises as to Warrick’s long-term survival leaves it open for the possibility of a second book about Warrick and Aiden.
