Cabin Fever

Coming home from work one day, Paige King-Travis is stunned to discover that her husband Ben has decided to leave her. He wants a separation. Talk about a blow from out of nowhere! Paige is stunned and heartsick… she knows she has been busy with her career, but she didn’t realize how little time she spent with Ben. Now it’s too little too late it seems… or is it? Paige is determined to try to convince Ben that they can make their marriage work. She invites him to their lake cabin for one weekend, determined to prove that she can be the kind of wife he needs. Ben is just as obstinate about not going, but when Paige convinces him she is having car trouble, he heads up to the cabin, only to discover that Paige has set out to rediscover the love and passion that had once dominated their marriage! Will she be able to convince him that she can handle a career and marriage or is there no hope for their marriage?

This was a good story. It’s obvious that Paige and Ben have their differences, but author Vanessa Hart does a good job of showing how much they have in common as they slowly but surely try to rebuild their relationship. What is nice about this story is that Ben and Paige both realize that one weekend together won’t solve all their problems, a point which Ms. Hart clearly shows the reader. It’s a step in the right direction though, as Ben and Paige fill their weekend up with erotic lovemaking and lots of talking. I really liked the way Ben and Paige managed to compromise without having to lose their identities. This was a great story with a very intense relationship focus.
