Now and Forever

Becca Maginty is raising her seven-year-old son Drew all alone due to the death of his father eight years ago. She is content with her life. She has a great boyfriend, Dylan, who loves her and who also loves Drew. Her happy life takes a turn for the worse though when she starts receiving red roses from an unsigned “admirer.” Then the threatening notes start and she gets more and more scared. Finally she goes to the police, where the detective assigned to her case turns out to be Tanner Deacon, Drew’s father and her first love! Becca is shell-shocked and horror-stricken. She had believed Tanner to be dead. His parents had told Becca that he hadn’t survived the accident, but at the same, told Tanner he that Becca didn’t want to be with him due to his paralysis.

Tanner is equally shocked to see Becca, though for different reasons. He’s always believed that Becca deserted him when he needed her most. But confronted with Becca’s surprise, he can’t help thinking about the past and coming to the conclusion that his parents forced them apart. Tanner’s parents had never liked Becca, so he knows that they decided to get her out of his life for good by destroying any chance that they could back together. Now not only does Tanner have to deal with Becca’s scorn and suspicion, he has to get to know his seven-year-old son, while at the same time protecting Becca from her stalker, and trying to win her over from Dylan. He’s determined not to give up on Becca without a fight and he’ll do whatever it takes to prove to her that this time, they are going to be together forever, no matter what it takes. Can Becca trust Tanner or will he turn out to be the trouble she’s been running from?

This book is filled with suspense and intrigue. I was amazed by the story Lori Libby weaved, creating not only the suspense and mystery Becca was dealing with, but also creating an equally fantastic story about love’s second chance. I was on tenterhooks throughout the entire story, waiting to find out who Becca’s stalker was. Though I had something of a clue, I was still surprised by who the stalker turned out to be. Now and Forever is a well written story that has a great combination of suspense and romance. If you like a little mystery and lots tension with your romance, Now and Forever is the perfect story to pick up.
