Queen of Hearts

Officer Dan Picolo has wanted Audrey Lawless for just about as long as he’s known her. Finally, she’s given him a chance though, they have a date scheduled and Dan can’t wait. Audrey is excited despite herself. Since her husband’s death, she hasn’t contemplated being with another man, but lately she’s been lonely and the thought of spending time with Dan, who is nine years younger, sounds like a lot of fun. She’s not sure what will happen, but she’s open to any possibilities. As they grow closer, Audrey lets Dan in on the events of her husband Sam’s death. She doesn’t believe it was a suicide and is determined to figure out the truth. Dan is in awe of Audrey. He’s never met a woman who’s so put together and who is a bit psychic too. He knows that this is a woman who he could love forever… if only he could convince her to put aside his past relationships with women. But as Dan and Audrey investigate more, the situation gets more dangerous. Will they be able to find out the truth before they are hurt or even killed?

Queen of Hearts was a great read. The mystery surrounding Sam’s death had me intrigued, as did Audrey’s psychic abilities and the recent problems she had been having with them. These aspects were great, but it was the story between Dan and Audrey that had me hooked. Audrey was shy of trusting a man again, a cop. She’s not sure if she can handle a relationship with a cop again, but yet, she’s drawn to Dan in a way she hasn’t been drawn to a man since Sam. Will they get their happily-ever-after? Read Cyndi Redding’s suspenseful romance between a psychic and a cop to find out. In a story of opposites attracting, only true love can heal the breach between the past and the present.
