Stefan d’Argent is a man on a mission. He is trying to prevent a serial killer from killing again. The killer, Louis Reynard, is a rogue vampire bent on punishing the d’Argent family. Reynard’s main victims are look-alikes for the head of the d’Argent family, Alina. His next victim is Julie Quill. Stefan is struck by how much she looks like Alina. The feelings he has for Julie are something he cannot control. Stefan knows that there is no future for he and Julie, but he is unable to stop his heart from yearning for her.

Julie Quill, an artist and art restorer, is approached by two very different men. In one man she only feels darkness and in the other light. Meeting Stefan d’Argent immediately changes Julie’s life. She is very attracted to him and wants him in her bed. But she senses his reluctance. Julie can feel his attraction to her. When he explains the terror that has come into her life, she knows that he will protect her with his life. Will Stefan let her into her heart?

If you like/love vampire stories, this is a must read. The d’Argent family will steal your heart. I could not put this book down. The sexual chemistry between Julie and Stefan is amazing. The instant connection between the two is wonderful. They are able to trust one another, allowing their relationship to bloom. Ms. Nichols has created truly memorable characters and I look forward to the next book in the series.
