Nothing Personal

Carla can’t believe that after just one look at his bare chest she suddenly has the hots for her best friend’s younger brother. She has known Leo for years; he was the kid that always bothered her. It’s not acceptable for her to be bothered in this whole new way.

Leo saw the flash of interest in Carla’s eyes. He can’t begin to explain his elation. He has had a crush on her for years, but she has never acknowledged that he is no longer thirteen. Can Leo take a chance and prove that their age difference means nothing when compared to love?

Nothing Personal is a solid contemporary romance that will win you over at any age. Elisa Adams aptly displays the fears an older woman has about entering into a serious relationship with a younger man. The story captures the evolution of Leo and Carla’s friendship and the realization that the lust is actually love. The characters are personable and fun. I particularly enjoyed the discovery that even though they have known each other for years, Carla and Leo still had to get to know each other on a much deeper level for their relationship to grow. Readers will appreciate Leo’s character. He is a caring, sensitive man that takes care of the people that are important to him. His actions towards Carla are wonderful. Readers will laugh at his outrageous flirting and sigh at the depth of his commitment to Carla. The dry humor of the characters creates lighter moments within the emotional growth of the characters. Ms. Adams keeps this plot moving at a natural pace and concludes in true romantic style.
