Whiteout

Four individuals are thrown together in the midst of a snowstorm; their very survival hangs in the balance.

Dayna and her brother, Park, have come to close the cabin for the winter, forever. They are selling the cabin and with it bidding goodbye to a lifetime of tainted memories. Before they can leave though, a massive storm blows in. As the elements turn against them, they find unlikely aid from their neighbor and his company. Will they find a way to survive the Whiteout?

Whiteout presents readers with a very involved plot that is a testament to human strength. As the characters are confronted with the ferocity of the storm, readers are drawn deeper into the story. Ms. Munn has captured the tension and angst that surround the characters. As the situation worsens she maintains this tension while not letting it overshadow the struggles the characters are dealing with. The multiple characters offer readers a variety of perspectives and motivations. The varying points of view make this a text that readers must pay attention to. The characters’ past, present and outside interests present an overwhelming amount of information for readers to filter through in order to find the meat of these characters. However, Ms. Munn has ensured that readers bear witness to not only the physical confrontation the characters have with the storm, but also the deeper emotional confrontation they each endure as they struggle to survive.
