Zylar’s Moons: Zylan Rebellion
Ms. Wilde offers readers a third visit to Zylar in her work, Zylar’s Moons: Zylan Rebellion.
Ahnika stands on the precipice of womanhood. A part of her resists the future her parents have planned; she longs for the freedom not granted by their traditions. However, her choice is taken from her when she is kidnapped and thrust into one man’s demented vision of the future. As she struggles to retain some semblance of self, she casts about for some avenue of escape. However, will her escape bring her any closer to the freedom she seeks?
Raj is a Hunter. He has an innate ability to find what doesn’t wish to be found. This time, his search is for a missing daughter. Yet as he follows the tracks of her soul, he encounters many obstacles and comes to the unyielding truth that all in Zylar is not well. What secrets does this one woman hold and just how far will someone go to keep her quiet?
Zylar’s Moons: Zylan Rebellion brings to life a well-developed new world. Ms. Wilde has gone to great lengths through her descriptions and characterizations to fashion a distinct setting. Into this world are cast a variety of unique characters. Readers will find the main characters immensely likable. Ahnika’s strength and Raj’s determination and honor ensure they are both remarkable heroes. The secondary characters will have readers experiencing a gamut of reactions. The scenes between Ahnika and Raj are varied and plentiful. Their eroticism shows creativity on the part of Ms. Wilde. While the plot is hard to follow at certain points, it culminates in a display of both physical and psychic power. The story had enough depth and background information to be read alone, but references to past characters will be more vivid by reading the stories in order. There are enough open threads that readers can hope there will be additional stories from Zylar.
