Cave Creek Cowboy In Vegas
Bobbi Jo has had it with cowboys. Her first marriage to Cave Creek cowboy Ridge was an utter disaster and short lived. She is determined not to fall in love with another cowboy. More than this, she doesn’t want to find herself living in Holly’s shadow again. But when in Vegas to witness Holly and Ridge’s wedding, she winds up drunk and sleeps with Tam, Ridge’s best friend. Not only a cowboy, but also someone else who seems to be in love with Holly. Is Bobbi Jo doomed to forever fall for the wrong guy? But is Tam the wrong guy – or the right one?
Tam has been in love with Bobbi Jo for years, since she looked after his ill grandmother. Too young and inexperienced, he lost his chance with her and she married his best friend. Now he seems to have been given a second chance. Will he finally get the woman of his dreams? Will his attempt to help a friend years ago ruin his chance with her?
Having read the previous tales in the Cave Creek series and enjoyed them so much, I was quick to sign up for this one, with confidence that this would be just as good and satisfying. Confidence dashed, I am wondering what happened to this story. Sex scenes are described, though not as detailed as in the others, to the extent that I don’t feel I am able to categorize this story as truly erotic. The focus seems to be more on romance. Had I not read the others, I would have had some trouble following the storyline, though references and some fleeting explanations are littered throughout the story. Having looked forward to Bobbi and Tam’s story, I was disappointed but will continue to read Ms. Blaise’s tales as this is the odd one out. As part of the series it is one that should be read; but as a stand alone it should not be at the top of the to buy list. Though not what I expected it to be, I am glad I read this tale as it gave me a chance to catch up with the lives of the other characters and it sets the scene for the next in the series. Bobbi Jo and Tam are very likeable characters, as are all the Cave Creek characters.
