Dragons and Dungeons is the first installment in the Immortal Secrets series from Tawny Taylor.

Kaya Cordova attends an auction representing her boss’ antique store; she's holding out for the very last piece, a relic copperplate. Her hopes are dashed when she is outbid by an arrogant, self-confident, gorgeous man. As if losing her prized item at the auction was not bad enough, he catches her staring at him, causing her to practically run over a woman, and now it is pouring rain. When he stops and requests her assistance in translating the plate, she is overcome with an odd sensation by a mere touch of his hand. Jestin Draig is on a mission to protect those like him. Being successful in obtaining the valuable plate, he is sees a woman that sparks a desire in him, one he has all but forgotten. Seeing his opportunity to approach her, he seizes the chance and is surprised to see she is more than he expected. When she appears on his doorstep, he is utterly pleased and prepared to act upon his urge to have her. She is there for business, but he wants more; a compromise is needed, offered, and accepted.

When Kaya enters Jestin's world, she is met with a dominant and powerful man ready to negotiate for what he wants. He is willing to please her in every way possible as long as she passes each test and obeys. Will she be willing to negotiate for more than a copperplate? Will Kaya accept what Jestin can offer her?

Tawny Taylor pens a tantalizing erotic paranormal sure to keep you hot under the collar. Kaya is riddled with emotions and confusion, only to find she is unable to walk away. Jestin is more than meets the eye and definitely more than some could handle. The instant chemistry between them is sizzling. The author does a wonderful job with word play, drawing the readers in with subtle humor and emotions. The passion between them is just a hot and overwhelming as the uncertainty Kaya feels. Jestin patience for Kaya is touching, and his need to be in control is thrilling.

This story provides readers with a romance based around total trust and complete surrender of one's fear. I only hope the additional installments will be as rewarding to read. The plot being developed in this story will only become more enjoyable along the way. Jestin left me breathless with both his dominant nature and compassionate side, and I enjoyed watching Kaya let go for the sake of pleasure. Tawny Taylor has created a wonderfully written first installment for a series; it's not for the faint of heart but enjoyable for anyone looking for a truly erotic tale. Dragons and Dungeons is well worth the rating of 5 Angels!
