Fire Eyes

When Demelza is enlisted to save her village and people from the fierce dogs that attack them and keep the forest unsafe to enter, she has no idea what she is actually going confront. She is the only one that has what it will take to free the village from them: magic. Kevern is a man that has been cursed to spend his life alone and run with wild dogs. He is part human/part animal. As Demelza and Kevern stand surrounded by a pack of dogs, they both realize maybe the other is not what they expected. Finding they are attracted and ripe with passion for one another, they each see their opportunity to achieve what they need to. They each need to kill the other. Will it cost Kevern or Demelza their life? Will Demelza’s magic be enough to protect herself from the pack of dogs and Kevern? What will they find when they actually meet each other?

Vonna Harper has created a short story that throws readers into the middle of a battle for survival: a witch against a wild man that runs with devil dogs. Each of them is under the impression that they know what they are getting into, yet, neither of them is prepared for what they actually encounter. The intense passion between Demelza and Kevern is sizzling and breathtaking for each of them. The realization that emotions and control might be easily kept in check adds an additional treat to this story. I enjoyed watching the story play out between Demelza and Kevern, but it was even more rewarding to see them realize that their emotions were more than they thought. Fire Eyes is a superb little paranormal romance that offers readers a glimpse of a little bit of magic. Vonna Harper has done a great job, earning 4 Angels!
