Refuge from the Storm

Liana Bellingham has spent her lifetime cleaning up her father’s messes. This time it has cost her a marriage. She has been sold to a man she does not know nor does she want to know him. Not only is she enraged at her father, she is livid to learn her new husband, Raiden de Louve, is on the same ship she is on and in the middle of the ocean. When a furious storm rolls in, she finds herself stuck in the same room as him and the ship is going down. Waking to find she has been floating in the ocean, she is horrified to feel something latch onto her leg. Stuck between being relieved at not being alone and frustrated to be marooned with Raiden, she is left with emotions that she is unsure how to handle. With only the two of them around, they are given the opportunity to explore and work through emotions, confusion, and their pasts. Will there be a future for Liana and Raiden?

Gayle Eden has written a beauty of a short story that offers readers an insightful glimpse into each character’s personality and past. Raiden is a man that could have anything, yet the one that he wants does not desire him. He struggles to deal with winning her over while allowing her space to find herself. Liana must come to terms with what her father has done to her and realize that she is the only one that can ensure her happiness. The touching and rewarding passion that Raiden shows Liana leaves her breathless and emotionally overwhelmed. Raiden is a compassionate man sure to impress any reader. This story was a wonderful and delightful contemporary romance that I will recommend to others for a long time. It offers a combination of characters and romance that engross the readers and leaves them glued to their seat until the storm has run it course. Refuge from the Storm is a must for anyone looking for a heartfelt, passionate story of going after what you want and fighting for it once you get it. Gayle Eden has done a tremendous job and earned 5 Angels!
