The Mating Tree

All Eria wants is to have someone to love and to love her back. While others rush to the mating tree to find the perfect bedmate, what she desires is the one mate from her dreams; the man that speaks to her in her fantasies and whose hands roam her body like a hot branding iron.

Kren and Eria had a relationship once before. Eria thought it was real love but he suddenly left her for someone else. Eria thought his love for her was real but instead he chose someone with wealth. Heartbroken, Eria knew there had to be someone out there for her. The dreams, the voices had to be real. When Kren returns to torment her, she refuses to listen and runs off to the Forrest of Dreams. Can Eria finally be with that one voice that draws her closer or will an evil source beckon her to him before she can find her real destiny with the love of her life?

The Mating Tree is a delightful short story that reminded me a little of Beauty and the Beast, but with a slightly different edge. This story is a bit more amorous and the heroine often reminded me of myself as she raced to find her destiny in life. I loved the character of Eria. Ms. Powers does a great job showing Eria’s emotions. They were so believable I could almost feel her heartache, as well as her happiness. Mae-Ann Powers has created a sensual story that I could not put down. When Eria finally connected with her real destiny, it made the story an incredible read. I found myself cheering at the end and without giving anything away, was thrilled to see certain people get what they had coming to them. Ms. Powers has a style of writing that keeps you glued to the book. I only wish it could have been a little longer, but it was still an exceptional story to read!
