It’s not often that I read a book that makes me feel as deeply as this one did. Patrice Michelle crafts this tale in such a way to make readers emote right along with her amusing and intriguing characters. Duncan is H–O–T hot and is more than enough to stir the senses and passions of any woman, while Rose is wounded, searching and has an inner core of strength that makes its presence known in this exciting and well-drawn story. Rose’s family and emotional baggage were endearing, and Duncan’s musical talent struck a “chord” with me as well. Between the shape-shifters, the Clannish vampire politics, and the secrets, this story really smoked! Add to the mix Duncan and Rose each trying desperately to keep their self-protective walls intact even as they explore their fated ties, plus a host of strong supporting characters, and A Taste for Control blooms into a gem of a story. From America to Ireland, from reality to legend, and from time past to time present, this mix of suspense, paranormal abilities, and sizzling eroticism flat-out delivers the goods and is certain to please.
