Eyes of the Leopard 3: Cat on a Hot New York Roof continues the story of Nadia and Mikhail Turgenev, which was started in Eyes of the Leopard 2: Vengeance.

Nadia, Mikhail and their son Luca are now in New York. Unfortunately, it’s not a pleasant vacation. Mikhail is distant and seemingly out of sorts with his wife and son. All he can think about is his anger against the Nadia’s brothers, the men who captured him in a cage for two years. He’s tried and failed to be able to put the past behind him. Nadia can’t take it anymore though. She needs to know that Mikhail is part of the family one hundred percent. She can’t stand knowing that in a small part of his heart, his anger and need for vengeance are still festering. Is there any way she will be able to help him finally put the past behind them and focus on the hopes and dreams of their shared future?

Cat on a Hot New York Roof is a sensual and intense story from start to finish. This book explores the power of emotions and why it is so hard to let go of the past. Ms. Jordan does a good job of helping the reader to understand where Mikhail is coming from, and why it is truly so hard for him to let go of his past. Mikhail is a man hardened from his past experiences and it is truly a test for him to let go of those feelings in order to concentrate on his newfound happiness. Cat on a Hot New York Roof is a satisfying continuation of Mikhail and Nadia’s story, while at the same time, alluding to some of the future problems facing the demon leopards. Though you really should read the first two books before jumping into the third story, Ms. Jordan gives enough background information on the past stories to allow any reader new to the series to understand and enjoy this story.
