Playing with Fire

Lindsay Pfeiffer is a hardworking firefighter for the city of Glendale. She loves her job, loves helping keep the citizens safe, and loves being an asset to the community. However, being one of the few female firefighters in the city has its limitations too, and the fact is, it’s much harder for her to gain the respect of her fellow firefighters than it is for her male coworkers. She has to work twice as hard just to prove herself. And if that wasn’t bad enough, lately she’s been having some seriously lustful thoughts about firefighter Matt Callahan. He’s sexy, a dedicated firefighter, and gets her more riled up than her current boyfriend Joey.

When a seduction gone awry leads to the best night of Lindsay and Matt’s lives, they both realize that it’s time to fess up to their feelings for each other. Matt has been crazy about Lindsay from their days training as firefighters but she continually rebuffed his attentions. He’s not about to let their accidental bedroom encounter be forgotten by Lindsay. Despite his own friendship with Joey, Matt is determined to claim Lindsay for himself. However, they both soon learn that there is more standing in the way of their budding relationship than just Lindsay’s soon to be ex-boyfriend. It’s hard to carry on any kind of relationship under the close scrutiny of their fellow firefighters, and when a promotion comes up, Lindsay struggles with what will happen if Matt gets it. Will these two passionate people be able to make a life together in spite of all the obstacles standing in their path?

Playing with Fire is an emotional and strong look at the challenges female firefighters have to go through just to be able to do their job. Lindsay is a very strong and appealing woman. She’s feminine but knows she has to hide those facets of herself in order to be considered one of the guys. It is only with Matt that she is able to let her guard down and be herself, firefighter persona and all. In Lindsay, Matt sees his bachelor days ending. He takes it with a grace and charm that one might not expect out of a man purported to be a bit of a playboy, but Ms. McDavid makes Matt a man to be admired as he deals with pressures from the job and his family life. In Lindsay’s arms, he finds solace and the chance to let down his own guard. He doesn’t have to be the tough, unstoppable firefighter; he can be a man who has worries and problems just like every other man out there. Together, Matt and Lindsay make an unbeatable team and their relationship proves to be a scintillating love story that will have you anxious to find out how they resolve their problems to finally earn their chance at happiness.
