A Quick Bite

Lissianna Argeneau is a vampire with a problem. She’s hematophobic. This wasn’t a problem in the days of yore when vampires could take their dinner ‘on the hoof’. The council has decided that to keep vampires from being found out they must use blood banks to get their sustenance, only a few special cases are allowed to feed in the old way. Lissianna is one of those special cases. It makes life very hard and she hates it, but it’s the only way other than an IV.

For Lissianna’s thirtieth birthday her mother wraps up an enticing gift, Dr. Gregory Hewitt, renowned psychiatrist with a talent for curing phobias. Greg doesn’t know what to think when he finds himself tied to a bed with a bow around his neck. When a gorgeous blonde comes in and starts nibbling on his neck, he tries to remember why it’s a bad thing. When he finds out that he’s her birthday present things start to get really strange. He cannot figure out why being a hematophobiac is such a life-altering issue for a lovely woman.

This was a great book that really tickled me on a few levels. I loved the fact that the good doctor didn’t find out that Lissianna was a vampire right away. It made for quite a few giggles. The group of cousins, especially Thomas, was a hoot. I was so happy to see them introduced into the mix. This was a great addition to a phenomenal series. I really hope that the introduction of the cousins means that there will be more books to come. I have found myself re-reading the rest of the series a couple of times and I always find something new to make me smile or even laugh out loud. Thank you for bringing us such a wonderful family.
