Blood is Quicker Than Water: A Danny Haase Mystery

Cassandra Beaumont was living the fairytale life; she had a gorgeous husband who was just elected senator, a large home, a beautiful son. What else could she need or want? When her life is shattered, Cassie tries to carry on without her husband and make a happy life for her and her son. However, a summons from her in-laws intrudes on the simple life she's begun. When she arrives at the palatial Thirty Pines in Michigan, she finds herself in the cold bosom of the Beaumont family. When strange things start happening around the area and suspicion is cast on the Beaumonts, life takes yet another turn for Cassie and her son.

I really loved this book. The characters are so realistic and well-rounded that it was like reading about someone I knew. I have not read anything by Katherine Smith before, but that will definitely change. I made it a point not to touch on most of the plot in my synopsis above. There were so many plot twists and subplots that I think you should read Blood is Quicker Than Water yourself. The idea that there is rot lurking under the beautiful sheen is not a new one, but it is wonderfully dealt with in Blood is Quicker Than Water.
