Shattered Legacy

Devlin and his troop of warriors have been blessed, or cursed, by the Guardians, depending on whom you talk to. Used as the Guardians' soldiers on Earth, they are needed, but feared. Following a never-ending battle against Jonar, a Guardian fallen from grace, Devlin and his troops are tired of fighting. When a messenger brings a summons from the wizard Galen, Devlin heeds it and finds a peace for him and his men that they desperately need.

Chantel is the daughter of Galen and the chosen of Mother Earth. She wears the Earth Crystal and the Mother speaks to her. She knows that the happiness she has is short lived and that steps must be taken to save the future of the world. Sacrifices must be made.

This is the beginning; it does not have a happy ending and should not. This is the foundation for an amazing series and only introduces the characters.

I have never felt so much while reading a book. I had a hard time putting my impressions into words just because they are such strong feelings. I cried more with this book than any other. The many characters that make up this book and series are amazing. They are so well written that you live with them. The plot is very harsh and will tear your heart out, but it lays the groundwork needed for the rest of the series. I am just amazed at the skill it takes to write a gut-wrenching plot, that leaves you wanting more. This book has been redone from a previous edition; I was lucky enough to read the first and I can tell you that if you have the first, buy this version. There were three books in the series, but it looks like Lora Leigh will be reworking her magic to bring us another amazing series. I highly recommend this book and will be waiting impatiently for the rest of this series.
