Late Night Sessions

Vicky plays her flute at the folk festival for the first time since her friend Kirsten had died, with the encouragement of an older man playing a guitar. Vicky and Kirsten had shared their love of music. Vicky had been afraid that playing before now would have been too hard without her dear friend but, with Daniel’s encouragement, the pain did not come and she started to feel alive again.

Vicky and Daniel meet at several festivals over time and start developing a friendship through their love of music. They act on their attraction to one another and a deeper relationship develops. Vicky knows her feelings for Daniel are strong and acknowledges the big age gap between them. She wonders how it will affect their relationship with each other and family members and she worries that she does not know nearly enough about Daniel’s life. Can Vicky and Daniel trust themselves and each other enough to love again?

Late Night Sessions is a heart-warming tale of grief, loss, and love. Vicky is still grieving the loss of her friend when she meets Daniel and has to learn how to trust her heart and feelings again after they had been shattered by death. Daniel also understands loss and grief and has to learn to deal with his own fears of heartbreak. The emotional connection between Vicky and Daniel was strong and passionate, and the love they shared was touching. I gave this story 3 Angels because I wish that Daniel’s feelings had been explored more. I think that readers will enjoy this charming and delightful tale and be enchanted by the depth of love.
