Scrambled Eggs

Sharlene and Jeffrey Pincher had tried unsuccessfully for several years to have a baby and had finally resorted to in vitro fertilization. Therefore, when she finally heard the words “Congratulations, you’re pregnant!”, she thought everything was perfect. Unfortunately, the doctor also had to tell her that there was a mix up and the sperm used wasn’t her husband’s. This series of events and Jeffrey’s reactions to them finally convince Sharlene that she and her husband aren’t compatible and they set about getting divorced. With a nest egg from Uncle Bart, Jeffrey’s wealthy uncle, Sharlene begins to live life on her own, fantasizing about the unknown father of her child.

Zachary Richmond is a struggling college student who resorted to donating sperm to pay for college. But the thought of an unknown child is too much and he stops. Instead he decides to rent out an apartment in the building he inherited from his parents. When Sharlene rents out the apartment, the plot thickens…

Scrambled Eggs is a hoot. Sharlene and Zachary both have situations in their lives that are difficult but they both handle them in humorous ways. These two are nice and fun-loving and so perfect for each other that you just can’t wait for them to get together. Of course they have to face all of the situations that arise. For Sharlene, it’s a husband who wants to inherit the family fortune but needs Sharlene’s baby to do so. Jeffrey is a great character; smarmy yet so idiotic that you can’t truly hate him. For Zach, there are a few issues – money and school. The way he handles his school problem made me want to smack him but overall, I enjoyed him. Throw in a little chemistry, some great secondary characters and you’ve got a story that will keep you smiling and rooting for the happily ever after ending.
