Dan Strake gave up being a cop when he discovered the system didn’t always work in favor of the good guys. He traded his badge for the life of a nightclub owner. The Green Lantern may not be the most upscale place, but it works for him. However, his past and his present collide when a woman he knows is found murdered at the Green Lantern. When the facts don’t add up, Dan sets out to find his own answers. Too bad someone thinks the truth is worth protecting at all costs.

S.H. Baker drops you right into Dan Strake’s world and you won’t be able to leave until you learn the truth. Readers will be drawn into the plot by the immediate drama the murder presents. Through Dan, you will get a glimpse of the seedier side of life and a man that still believes there are redeeming qualities in people society has given up on. This is a short story, less than fifty pages, and yet the author has managed to infuse it with drama and bits of humor that will have you turning the pages to see how it’s all tied together in the end. If you have just a few moments, S.H. Baker delivers a suspenseful tale in Night Life that you’re sure to enjoy.
