As principal of Sander’s High, Erin O’Shea would love for the varsity baseball team to win the state championship. She’s just not sure that hiring Michael Manning, former baseball pro, is such a good idea. Erin thinks he’s too qualified to coach a high school baseball team, and way too sexy for his own good.

Michael had it all, he thought, until an accident took away his baseball career. Michael is thrown a curve ball upon meeting Miss O’Shea when he applies for the coaching position. Erin is not what he expected, with her sharp wit and her sassy mouth…a mouth he wouldn’t mind possessing.

Josey Cooper is the drama teacher at Sander’s High. Recently divorced, Josey has a new look as well as a new attitude. She also has her eyes set on Chase Mitchell, the coach for the Sander’s City Flyers baseball team. Josey feels Chase would never be interested in someone like her; a forty year old divorcee…or would he?

Chase has wanted to kiss Josey since the day he met her. He knows that she is divorced and he really doesn’t want to get involved with a woman with “baggage”. There’s something about Josey though that he just can’t resist; not only is she sexy as hell, she also loves baseball. Chase knows Josey isn’t as secure in herself as she would like others to believe, but he’s all too willing to prove to Josey that she’s the sexiest woman he’s ever seen.

Halley Forrester is the Physical Education teacher at Sander’s High. Raised by her father and brother, she has always been a tomboy and loves sports. Halley has always rolled her eyes at her friends when they talk about men that make them weak in the knees. Confident that would never happen to her; Halley tells them there is not a man out there that could make her feel that way. That was before she met Reese Taylor.

Reese is the pitcher for Sander’s City Flyers and he has his eye on the major leagues. Reese is the love ‘em and leave ‘em type of guy, but that’s only because he thinks that a relationship with him would be too much for any woman to handle. He soon discovers that Halley is different from all the other women he has met; she may be the one and only woman to steal his heart.

Hot Summer Nights is an awesome book! All three stories will keep you glued to the pages until the book is finished. The stories are short, but the characters are well developed and the dialog is witty. LuAnn McLane has a great sense of humor that shows through the characters she creates. All of the characters are true to life with each character having insecurities. Michael, Chase and Reese are tired of women wanting them for their “pro” status while Erin, Josey and Halley think that these men would never give them the time of day. You will come to care for these couples and can’t help but cheer them on. The sexual tension and chemistry between the characters makes for scorching sex scenes. If you are looking for a funny, sexy, steamy read, this reviewer highly suggests Hot Summer Nights! Grab a tall glass of ice water and turn the fan on high then sit back and enjoy the game!
