Dr. Darwin Glase is a Xeno-Anthropologist, he studies new spicies. He's put down on a planet that the captain told him had bizarre aliens. As he makes his way further into the forest he comes to a clearing and sees a small valley with a lake and a waterfall. To the left he sees a building and decides he'd better go introduce himself. But before he can come out in the open he sees a creature run into the other side of the forest. He follows and finds that it is a female, a very beautiful female. But she isn't a new species, she's a Seeltic.

Nadenka has gotten away from Dr. Rus, she's tired of all the testing he keeps doing. So she's taken some time to herself. After she has climbed a tree to get some fruit, she sits on the ground to eat it and relax. Suddenly she hears a sound and looks up and sees an alien man. She can see that he desires her, but she knows her duty, no mating with aliens.

He's Humin and she's a Seeltic hybrid, bred to carry on her dying race. After the doctor and High Ruler realize she wants Darwin for her mate, they tell him her secret. But can he handle it and will the doctor's tests work to help Nadenka? Can they help the High Ruler and the Seeltics, who are a gentle race. There is a lot working against Nadenka and Darwin. Ms. Venton gives us a story that captures the imagination and makes us feel we are there with these characters. Not only has she made Darwin and Nadenka very believable, but the planet and what happens there also. When I read the scene of these two people, who had tried to stay away from each other, come together, I could see the fireworks before my eyes. It makes you want to jump in the story and help these two get and stay together. 5 Angels
