The Charmer
The Charmer is the fourth installment of Celeste Bradley’s Liar’s Club series. In this book, she brings together two former characters who are new to the spy game.
Collis Tremayne was injured in the war, leaving one of his hands useless, but he does not allow that to get in his way of his quest to become a member of The Liar’s club. Something is driving him to become the best spy there is but there is only one thing standing in his way . Rose Lacey.
Rose is a former maid who has left her painful past behind her to become one of the most skilled students at the school. But, she can’t help losing control of her temper whenever Collis teases and challenges her. One challenge proves to be too much and both of them find themselves close to losing their chances of ever graduating. Together, they must prove their abilities, but an exercise turns into a real life adventure that reaches to the very highest levels of government.
Although Ms. Bradley has much intrigue and danger, the tale is spiced up with great sexual tension and humor. Collis is scrumptious and vulnerable. Rose is the girl from the wrong side of the tracks who you are rooting to make it to full fledged Liar status.
I sat down to read a chapter or two of this book and ended up finishing it in one day. Ms. Bradley weaves a tale filled with wit, suspense, and sizzling passion. Both the hero and heroine are likeable, their attraction smoldering and the fact that they are equals in a time when women were not considered as such, adds to the story. For anyone who has read Ms. Bradley’sother Liar’s Club stories, you will not be disappointed!
