Echoes of a Distant Storm
Cael Blackshear's life becomes a twisted road of torment and pain after he's blamed for Elder Avenarius’s murder. There is an evil force so slick and sly that it's affecting everyone's minds, making them believe they saw things they didn't really see. Now Cael and his friend Damiana must travel a path of danger and deceit not knowing whom to trust or who to turn to. Can their friendship and budding relationship last after Cael falls under the spell of an evil witch? Must Cael really die to save the others?
There's only one way to find out Ladies and Gentlemen and that is to pick up the book.
I have to say that when I started reading Echoes of a Distant Storm, I was ready to return it. I thought that it wouldn't be something I was interested in. I am so glad that I didn't return it and kept on reading. This story really picks up speed in the second chapter and it doesn't stop until the very end. Wendy Simpson really knows how to draw her readers into her world. She knows how to use her pen to capture and keep her readers’ attention. I was saddened by a lot of aspects of this story but don't want to say anything more on it for fear of giving away this excellent story. Cael captures your heart from the first chapter. He's a very confused boy and he has a lot of hardship that he must overcome. Dami is sweet and will do anything to protect Cael but when he's captured by the witch she loses him for a while. She eventually gets him back, though it's not an easy feat. I truly felt sorry for her in some parts of this story. When the unthinkable happens it breaks your heart to see her grief. Wendy doesn’t disappoint her readers, she’ll eventually bring Cael and Dami back together, so pick up the book to see how this amazing author accomplishes that.
If you do nothing else this week, read this book. Trust me. You’ll be glad you did!
