Betsy Tremaine is ripe for romance and excitement. She still lives in the house that she grew up in and has always worked in the offices of the Port Henry Ledger. Whilst attending the Seattle Conference, Soldier is entranced when an angel enters the room. A small blonde with tempting curves and the cutest dimples; she is a real lady. He can't keep his eyes off her. Betsy notices the tall, dark, good-looking hunk of masculinity. She is immediately drawn to him but can't figure out why he keeps staring at her. As Soldier is preparing to introduce himself, her name tag takes him by surprise. His dream goddess is the old crone from the Port Henry newspaper! Betsy is aghast to realize that J."Soldier" McKennitt, "the old geezer" that she had often berated in her column is in fact a complete stud. He is well built, armed with a killer grin and has the deepest blue eyes that she’s ever seen.

This totally unexpected introduction to the characters had this reader rolling on the floor laughing. The feisty woman meets her match in an equally quick-witted master. The intense build up of the tension and frustration they both experience kept this reader turning the pages. The couple are desperately attracted to each other but they must clear up their misconceptions to make any progress. When is becomes apparent that Betsy is in danger, the target of some threatening notes and hostile phone calls, Soldier takes over the control of the situation. He is a detective presently on leave from the force. As the stalker draws nearer to Betsy, the story changes in intensity and the romance heats up too. >From riotously funny moments and breathtaking action scenes to a tender, deep and undeniable love, The Damsel in This Dress has it all. This is one debut novel you have to read. Definitely a 5 Angels keeper!
