Her Sister's Keeper

Logan Corbett's little sister and mother were in a terrible plane crash. The plane crash killed their mother and left 10-year-old Kim in a wheelchair. Understandably Logan is overprotective of Kim and she balks at anything that might cause her sister further harm. Logan only wants the best for her sister so she reluctantly agrees when Kim's doctor, Dr. Zachary Dellinger, suggests that Kim go to a summer camp for children with special needs. But Logan has a condition. That as a registered nurse, she gets to go as a camp nurse so that she can keep an eye on Kim.

Dr. Zachary Dellinger is a dedicated pediatrician. Every summer he volunteers his time to the children at Camp Rippling Waters. He is sure the camp will be beneficial for Kim. She needs to get out in the fresh air, and maybe she will come out of her shell of mourning and depression as well. But those aren't the only benefits of summer camp. It doesn't take Dr. Zach or Logan long to find mutual attraction for each other under the starry sky and balmy sunny days. But a relationship with a doctor is not what she is looking for. Logan has been down this road before. She was once married to a doctor that never had time for her and was never at home, she learned her lesson well. Can Dr. Zach prove to her that he is different?

Her Sister's Keeper is a wonderful story of sisterly love and devotion. Delightfully written characters are a key part of this believable and enticing tale. Logan has spent the time since the plane crash doting on her sister, Kim. Some feelings of misplaced guilt have caused her to put her own life on hold. Kim is a normal 10-year-old who has always been an amazing athlete and now has to deal with the emotions of finding herself in a wheelchair, not to mention the loss of her mother. Dr. Zach is an amazing hero who sees all these things and makes it his quest to make the lives of these two sisters better. What a wonderful story, very intriguing and attention grabbing from the very first page.

This reviewer did however feel the book ended much to quickly and abruptly. Something is missing. Perhaps it is just that I didn't want the book to end so soon. A highly recommended read for contemporary romance readers. And maybe even young adult readers as there are just a few kisses and dreamy fantasies. A refreshing change from books that are loaded with steamy sex scenes. If you are looking for those this isn't the book for you.
