John Jenkins loves woman. Unfortunately, he hasn’t found Ms. Right yet… not that he’s looking of course. He can’t help it if he sometimes envies his close friend Dominic, who has recently settled down into blissful matrimony. No matter how nice it is to date a new woman every day of the week, sometimes he wishes he could find a woman who was suited just for him. Then he meets Sasha Logan and he can’t believe how attracted his is to the bold woman. They make love on the first date, nothing unusual for John, but when he doesn’t hear from her again, he becomes annoyed and a bit worried. He had thought their night together was stupendous, but apparently Sasha didn’t think the same thing. What will it take to prove to her he thinks she’s different from the rest?

Chick Magnet epitomizes the bachelor lifestyle. John doesn’t know what he’s missing until he gets a glimpse of heaven in Sasha’s arms. When she mysteriously disappears, John can’t get help but finally understand what he’s done to all the women he used to date, leaving them high and dry. Though this was a short story, John’s transformation from bachelor to husband material was natural and believable. I really liked his reaction to finding himself in love… he was scared but he was also awestruck. I think all women would like to tame a bachelor, and Valarie Prince does a great job of showing how John turns from a casual playboy to a man deeply in love.
