When Helen Fairchild’s bank loan is called in by an unscrupulous banker, she knows there has to be another way to keep her finishing school open and stay out of debtor’s prison without resorting to being the banker’s mistress. She goes from bank to bank, finally getting financier Jack Langton to agree to provide four hundred pounds to pay off her loan on the agreement that he become half partner in her school.

Jack then decides to visit his newest acquisition; he is shocked by the teaching that is going on at Helen’s school. Helen’s isn’t teaching her students ways to manage their husbands’ household, instead, she is teaching them oral techniques, as in ways to best pleasure a man with one’s mouth. He realizes that she is teaching virgins these techniques, as he recognizes his own fiancée in the room, his fiancée who doesn’t seem to have any passion for him whatsoever.

When Jack confronts Helen about her school, he demands that she give him lessons in how to please women, so as to keep his fiancée from straying in the future. Helen agrees and so begins the battle of wills between two strong and independent individuals. Helen teaches Jack the many ways to please a woman, while Jack tutors Helen in the ways to win a man’s heart. Too bad Jack is engaged because Helen finds herself falling deeply in love with him. Jack is very confused too… he’s engaged but the thought of spending the rest of his life with the passionless Clarissa is driving him insane. He wants Helen but he’s not sure if a happily-ever-after is in their future. Will Jack find a compromise without breaking Helen’s heart?

This was an extremely erotic story. Jack and Helen explored the many facets of a sexual relationship. From bondage to anal sex, Jack and Helen try it all, but only to enhance each other’s pleasure. It was written in a very sensual way, so not to be crude or raunchy in any way. This is a real credit to Leda Swann, who did an excellent job portraying not only the sexual relationship between Jack and Helen, but the growing emotional relationship that came about during their encounters. Be warned, this story featured a scene with female-female sexual activities, so if that offends you, this might not be the story for you. I enjoyed it from the first page to the last. Helen was an intriguing character because she had so much independence for that time period, and Jack was great too because he was willing to take a chance on Helen’s business. School for Virgins is an intriguing look at the virginal antics of historic England.
