The Orb

The human woman, Alysta Moon, is alluring by video. Seeing her in person fosters a passion in Telk Dee-Pornah that threatens his future business relationship with her. He does not know how he can balance the demands of his body with the demands of his business. When she expresses interest in the guista, an orb of special importance to his people, Telk’s passion threatens to overwhelm him.

Alysta may not know all the customs of Telk’s world, but she knows that he is the most appealing man she has ever met. His physical presence is a distraction she doesn’t need if they are going to form a successful business relationship, but can she ignore the fervent heat that seems to invade her body whenever she thinks of him? Will the orb in her room provide any answers?

The Orb will bring readers to another world and let them briefly meet two professionals that find an unlikely bonus to a projected business relationship. Though only eighteen pages, Ms. Powers still manages to create a viable world and two characters readers will enjoy. The first person telling of the story adds details and emotions that would not have been accomplished in different narrative style. Alysta and Telk are confident, sexual beings that find a resounding passion between them. The dilemma of which priority takes precedence, business or pleasure, keeps their story moving. The orb, though not fully described, serves as the stimulus to get these two talking. Whether they decide to use the orb or not, is for the reader to experience.
