Radin Hawk embarks on an outlandish task in town out of honor for his father. While there he buys Keahla from a slave auction. Keahla speaks of her people and a time portal while condemning Radin as a coward. Disbelieving but willing to humor her, he follows her to the time portal. Dubious yet refusing to let her go alone, he goes through the portal and finds himself in Tarlis 300 years before he was born.

Keahla was sent into the future by Brekan to locate Radin Hawk, Lord of the Wolves. Fleeing her captors, she glimpses the red headed warrior on the cliffs. When he does not immediately liberate her, she swears to leave the future Tarlis without him and free her people on her own. Without warning, Radin demands to prove his honor and bravery before she rejects him.

Julie D’Arcy poignantly and evocatively captures the sorrow and anguish of soul mates kept time and again from each other by their enemies. Radin has loved Keahla from the moment their spirits walked Tarlis; however, in every incarnation she has been slain by their foes. Will they finally be together or are they destined to forever have their love cut short?

Time of the Wolf deftly and cleverly weaves a saga of treachery, loathing, forgiveness, and love with Brekan’s quest to right his fatal choice that set in motion Radin and Keahla’s souls on a path of love and loss for centuries. Will Radin trust and follow Brekan long enough for him to accomplish his mission? Or will his skepticism doom Keahla’s soul to eternal wandering?

Julie D’Arcy’s world of Tarlis is a captivating and alluring realm of magic, elves, and destiny. I hope she does not keep me in suspense for too long. I yearn to read another saga about Radin, Keahla, Brekan, and the realm of Tarlis. Time of the Wolf is an epic high fantasy assured to delight, enchant, and charm the reader.
