Z’s Story

Former FBI agent Angelina “Angel” Farin has been to hell and back, and she’s lucky to still be alive. Her law enforcement career ended when she was critically injured whilst pursing a gang of bank robbers. Rebuilding her life, she moves nearer to her parents and takes a teaching job at Berkeley. FBI agent Carl “Z” Zeik has been charged with protecting Angel by his boss, Angel’s father, Supervisor Special Agent Jack Farin. Jack knows that something is wrong, so he assigns Z to go undercover, to keep Angel safe from harm and to find out who is threatening her. Angel is determined to solve her last case; to claim revenge for her lost career. Fiercely independent, Angel doesn’t want Z’s assistance. Z’s equally determined to help her, so before long they’re working together to solve the case. Angel might have moved across the country and left the FBI, but is she out of danger?

From the breathlessly dramatic opening until the emotional conclusion, Rae Monet captures and then holds the reader's attention throughout this fantastic tale, Z’s Story. Angel is a beautiful, courageous character and one can't help but admire her courage, her strength and her tenacity. Z is a dedicated agent, a caring human being and gorgeous to boot. He takes his job very seriously and he’s determined to keep the boss’s daughter safe. Z worms his way into “his Angel’s” life and into her heart. Charismatic and real characters, vivid description and authentic FBI situations combine in this engaging romantic suspense. If you've never read a Rae Monet story, you don't know what you're missing. NOTE: Z’s Story is the third story in Rae Monet’s FBI series and features characters from Stolen Courage and Gabe's Prize. It was wonderful to catch up with Z and other familiar characters that we first met in Stolen Courage, Sandy, Jim and “Lion” (the guys of Jo's squad) and in particular Troy Vinstonie and Jo Clarin. Gabe Blackhawk and Kally Voker from Gabe's Prize also make a cameo appearance. Whilst Z’s Story can stand alone, I highly recommend reading Stolen Courage* and Gabe's Prize first, for a much richer reading experience.
