To the Limit

Eve Garrett is searching for a missing friend and that search has put her in the path of a man she never wanted to see again. Tyler ‘Mac’ McClain isn’t a bad guy. He regrets the way he callously hurt Eve years before, but he was a horny teenager then and shouldn’t she be over that by now? Apparently not, Eve harbors a deep resentment towards Mac; one he doesn’t understand but is determined to figure out. Unfortunately there isn’t time. The same friend that Eve is searching for is the same 17-year-old girl he’s been hired to find. Eve feels that Tiffany is in real trouble and Mac feels that she’s just a rich girl out having a little too much fun. Despite their difference of opinion, Eve and Mac eventually figure out that they work better as a team especially since they both keep ending up in the same place anyway. Is it good thing too, because someone obviously wants Eve dead.

Stories like To the Limit are what romantic suspense is all about. The who-done-it aspect of the story is so well crafted that readers won’t know who the villain is until Ms. Gerard is ready for them to know. Every shared moment is potent and explosive. It’s almost as if both are afraid it will be their last. Eve doesn’t trust Mac easily and given their history her apprehension is justifiable. Mac feels bad for the way he acted, although he doesn’t truly understand the depth of the hurt he caused Eve. The plot twists are many as Eve and Mac are not only trying to determine just what has happened to Tiffany but also who is trying to kill Eve and why. Simply put, Cindy Gerard is a fantastic storyteller.

To the Limit is the second in the Bodyguard series and can be read as a stand-alone.
