David Argeld, a lawyer in a non-profit firm, has two loves. One is his email pen-pal, BadiniSweet, the other is Jeannie Lin, another lawyer at his firm, who attracts him in spite of her obvious shyness. Jeannie won’t even speak to him, but BadiniSweet tells him her deepest sexual fantasies. How can he reconcile his attraction to both of these women?

This is a very short story, almost a vignette, but it packs a lot into a small package. I was pleased with the author’s facile use of words, which made the exchanges truly come to life. There’s even a surprise ending! There is no plot, just a situation – David is sitting in his office, emailing back and forth to his email pen-pal. The exchanges are very hot (they don’t call this the Heatwave line for nothing!) and very explicit, with overtones of Dominance and submission. I enjoyed the story, and think that it would be great before-bedtime reading -- especially if you have a significant other to read it with!
