Sweet Seductress

After receiving the magical powers of her mentor and friend Zator, sorceress Kaelyn must now undergo three additional sexual rituals in order to confirm and consolidate her new powers. As if by fate, a man named Yarron arrives in a flying chariot, looking for the sorceress and healer Kaelyn. His sister, eight months pregnant, has fallen ill with a mysterious ailment, and lies unconscious in their village far away to the North. Kaelyn agrees to go with him to aid his sister, but requires his assistance in the sex magic rituals in payment. Then they will part with no obligation on either side – or will they?

I’ve never read anything by this new author before, so I was pleasantly surprised by this story. While in some ways this has a typical sword and sorceress plot, it also has a few unexpected twists and turns to make it more interesting. The sex scenes are very explicit and between an exclusive male/female couple, with a bit of bondage thrown in for spice. Sensitive readers should know that there is a near-rape scene in the story, but it’s perpetrated by the villain as a demonstration of his evil character. Although I think the author’s style is a bit stilted and the dialog somewhat formal, I enjoyed the story and think that Ms. Powers has a promising future in futuristic romance writing.
