Rachel is on her way home from a summer abroad with the love of her life. There is only one problem: her parents have no idea she is in love and will not be happy when she tells them she is going back to Spain. Unsure of what to do, she notices an ad in the newspaper. Agreeing to meet a woman for dinner to discuss her offer, Kevin is overwhelmed with her beauty and need for an imposture fiancé. So, why has he agreed to go across the county for her? Once Kevin is in California, he soon realizes that his Rachel is as important to him as his Marianna.

Christina Hamlett has done a beautiful job wrapping a contemporary romance around pages and pages of humor. Readers are given not only a well thought out plot, portraying two totally different characters, but also a tender and sweet love story. Kevin is a man with strong family ties and values. Rachel is a spoiled, rich girl who lives in the midst of a dysfunctional family. Neither Rachel nor Kevin have any idea that what they truly want is far different from what they believe this plan will get them. The passion between the two is both heartfelt and sizzling. The numerous situations and conflicts that they find themselves in add to the depth and warmth of this story. Will Kevin and Rachel be able to pull off their plan before someone finds out it is actually an agreement between strangers? Will Rachel find herself in the arms of the love of her life? What about Marianna?

This book was one that I had to read in an entire weekend as I could not wait to see what unfolded on the next page. I was immediately drawn to Kevin’s passionate personality to jump in and save Rachel each time she was over her head. Rachel’s family provided a wonderful backdrop for Rachel to realize what it is really is in life that she desperately wants. Catch of the Day provides readers with enough humor to keep you laughing along with the kind of romance you only dream about.
