Hungry Like The Wolf

Olivia is a strong willed woman driven by revenge. Pushed away in her greatest time of need by the man she loves, she is left feeling betrayed. In order to make him pay for his betrayal, she has devised a plan and spent months preparing for her return. She is now back and setting her plan into motion. Unfortunately, she enacted her plan before actually seeing and touching Garrick again. Will she be able to go through with her plan? Will the outcome for this plan be what she wants it to be?

Garrick is an alpha male: leader of his pack. He is responsible for protecting the pack and the one he loves. In order to ensure the safety of his beloved Olivia, he pushes her away, breaking his heart and hers in the process. Olivia is his mate and wolves mate for life. She is his one real weakness that any rival pack leader can and would use against him. He cannot live with himself for ending things with her that way. When he learns that she has returned and joined with his arch rival, Fisher, he is left feeling betrayed and emotionally hurt. When she is in need of him again, will he shut her out or fight to protect her?

Vivi Anna has written a wonderful short story that shows two characters that find that sometimes what they want and what they need are two very different things. Garrick is a man of power and control until he is put in the same room as Olivia. He is overwhelmed with emotions and desire. Olivia is a woman bent on revenge for her broken heart only to learn that maybe that heart has already mended itself. The instantaneous passion between the two of them is sizzling and heated. Will Garrick be able to do what is right for his pack and Olivia? Will Olivia’s presence cause Garrick’s judgment to slip? Can the two of them come to understand why Garrick left Olivia and why Olivia was so devastated by it?

This book is a quick read, but thoroughly enjoyable. Garrick’s need to protect Olivia at the cost of being truly alone is very heartfelt and tender. The vengeance Olivia plans to force upon Garrick is sad, but deeply rooted with Olivia. The lesson that each learns is well worth the road it took to get them there. The underlying loyalty of Garrick’s pack is wonderful and touching. Hungry Like The Wolf is a superb short story to spend a few hours engrossed in. Vivi Anna has done a great job at earning herself 4 Angels!
