Once Upon a Bite

What could possibly happen when a woman from the 21st century goes back in time approximately 150 years to save a vampire? More than you could possibly imagine.

Elena is on a mission to heal a vampire devastated by loss and guilt. Finding him chained to a wall in a cave, she offers him the one thing that he is in need of the most: life. Realizing that this mission is unlike any other she has been on, Elena finds herself inadequate to survive on her own and in need of Cameron’s strength. Setting out to locate Cameron’s daughter, Angela, and to protect her from evil, Elena comes to realize that she might be in over her head and unable to control her emotions. Will Elena regret accepting this mission when it is over?

Cameron has given up on life and determined to die at his own hands. Having lost his wife and daughter to the evils of another man, he sees no reason to go on. On the brink of despire, he finds a beautiful and unusual woman at his aide. In order to protect her, he must push her away. If only he was strong enough to push her away from his heart also. What he learns from the mysterious woman, Elena, sends his emotions into overdrive and desire to life rampant. With Elena at his side, Cameron starts out to save his daughter and bring her home only to learn that is not all he wants to take home. Will Cameron get everything his heart desires?

Charlene Leonard has done a beautiful job writing a story with unique characters and a heartwarming plot. Although, Elena and Cameron are in the midst of danger and uncertainty, the compassion the feel for each other is just as intense. This story has lots of humor and physical tension between the two to keep readers engrossed. With Elena and Cameron’s lives thrown together to save a little girl, neither of them realize that they are in need of saving just as much as she is. The emotions and passion flying between the two of them, is sizzling and refreshing. Will Cameron and Elena save Angela and themselves too? Will Cameron be strong enough to withstand the evil dangers lurching around?

This story had me smiling from the humor of two characters being from such different worlds and my heart melting at the passion shared between them. Cameron’s devotion to keeping those he cares about safe was enduring to watch. Once Upon A Bite is an romantic paranormal ensured to make any reader appreciate taking the time to read. It is well worth it. Charlene Leonard has done an outstanding job and earned 5 Angels in the process!
