The Wolves of Shadow Mountain

Ian Finn finds himself running through the mountains to sit and watch the beautiful woman who is renting his cabin. Drawn to her for reasons he cannot understand, he watches her in the shadows every night. One night, after meeting strangers in the woods, he is lying naked in the snow, shot, and left for dead. In the midst of a battle to save Katie’s life from the horror that stalks her, they come face to face with both past and present emotions. When they realize the evils that consume their enemy, will they be strong enough to overcome it, while also struggling with the emotional passion for one another?

Gabrielle St. Croix has offered readers a story filled with the humor of being attracted to someone so intensely that one cannot think straight. She pairs this with the touching concern felt for that special person’s well-being above oneself. Ian is controlled by a compassionate yet possessive need to keep Katie safe from even herself. Katie desire to protect Ian is heartfelt. The readers are immediately drawn in by the portrayal of the frustrations of wanting someone stronger and then being unable to comprehend why you do. Ian and Katie are overwhelmed with emotions and confusion just being in the presence of one another. Will they survive the attraction between them only to succumb to the evil hunting Katie? Can Ian and Katie understand and accept what the physical connection between them really is?

The Wolves of Shadow Mountain is a wonderful story of romance in the world of paranormal. I was captivated by the strong characters and enduring passion that grows between them. I only hope that there might be another story waiting to continue the wonderful story in The Wolves of Shadow Mountain. Gabrielle St. Croix has done a wonderful job with her first published book and earned 5 Angels in the process!
