Wanna Get To Know Ya

C.J. is a feisty, muscle car loving, truck driver; she’s also a hypochondriac. Getting off on the wrong exit, C.J. finds the car of her dreams. She has been looking for a Barricuda forever. Negotiating a deal to buy the dilapidate car, she takes it right out from underneath another potential buyer. In her quest to return the car to its rightful place among hot rods, she brings her car to the only shop that has the reputation to handle the job.

Ethan is a man who had it all and lost it in the blink of an eye, losing his wife and daughter to an auto accident that should have never happened. He is trying to pick up the pieces and move on and luck has given him the opportunity to buy and restore an old Barricuda. With the deal but signed, a spunky woman comes in and out deals him. Surrounding his day with work tasks, he is caught off guard when that same spunky woman comes into Tanner’s Automotive, his shop, for repairs on that same car. Drawn to her for reasons he does not understand, he does the only thing he can and promises to fix the car quickly for her.

Reon Laudat has created a story that gives readers a glimpse into the frustrations of starting over and the hesitations of actually living. Readers will enjoy the feistiness of C.J. mixed with the thoughtfulness of Ethan. Ethan has found something worth trying for and is determined to get C.J. to see that, while C.J. forces herself to remain distant. Neither character realizes that each of them has so much baggage to work through. The passion between the two is immediate and hot. The tender moments they share with the supporting characters will engross the reader even deeper into this story. Will Ethan be able to convince C.J. that he is ready to move on? Can C.J. come to terms with her emotions and doubts before it is too late? Can Ethan and C.J. come to understand what is best for them is right under their noses?

This book was a nice blend of romance and humor. The trials and situations that Ethan and C.J. endured could happen to anyone and probably has. I was touched with the heartfelt writing of Ethan’s character and the mere confusion that C.J. felt. The surrounding members of their families provided readers an opportunity to understand both characters better and fall in love with them even quicker. Wanna Get To Know Ya is a truly sweet and touching romance that gives readers a full array of emotions. Reon Laudat has done a great job at creating a story worth reading from front to back and earned 4 Angels
