Wolf Island

Devlin Morgan is a man haunted by his past. He is driven by the need to right all the wrongs from years past. It is his reason for existing. He will never have the life that he desperately wants, so this purpose will have to be enough. When Abigail calls him with questions, he puts her off under the assumption that she will leave him alone. He cannot be responsible for keeping another person safe when his past comes back to haunt him yet again. If only she would have cooperated so that it was simple for him, but unfortunately for Devlin, she shows up at his doorstep. Will Devlin regret opening his door to her?

Abigail is a woman devastated with concern for her ghost-hunting sister, Miranda. Miranda is missing and the last place that Miranda was happens to be Wolf Island at the mysterious Morgan’s Keep Castle. Contacting the reclusive owner, Devlin Morgan, she tries to get some answers. Abigail finds him less than accommodating and her inquiries unwelcome. Forced to do the only thing she can, she leaves the comfy and cozy England behind and heads to the mysterious Wolf Island. She is determined to get into his castle and get some answers, even if Devlin does not want to give them. When Abigail does get into his castle, will she be prepared for what she finds and the answers she receives?

Abigail and Devlin find themselves in the midst of physical chemistry and danger. Devlin is driven to protect her, but cannot seem to let himself open up to her as to why she is in great danger. Abigail wants nothing more than to believe Devlin, but finds it extremely difficult when she knows he is not telling her everything. As the story unfolds between them, they find that maybe what they are looking for and in need of is not what they originally thought it was. Will Abigail find her sister? Can Devlin face his past and move forward? Will Abigail and Devlin find something in each other that makes this struggle worth fighting for?

Cher Gorman has created a wonderful story with a plot full of twists and turn and rich in characters, emotions, and danger. Devlin is left utterly confused with the array of emotions that meeting Abigail causes him. Abigail desires nothing more than the truth and her sister’s safety. When she learns the truth, she is left heartbroken and emotionally devastated. The characters are a wonderful compliment to each other. Each of the characters is strong in their own way and provides each other strength when they have no more of their own. Devlin and Abigail’s display of passion is rewarding not only for them, but readers as well. As the story unravels, readers will be thrown into a world of immense physical danger and emotional struggles. At the story’s completion, Abigail and Devlin will find themselves in a place they never imagined.

This story was beautifully written and will immediately draw the reader into the story. The hints of danger and suspense along the way allow the readers to feel the emotions that each character is riddled with. I enjoyed this story tremendously. Devlin’s concern for everyone else is heartwarming. Abigail’s compassion for Devlin is wonderful and it was endearing to watch the realization that Devlin has someone that cares about him and not his past. Cher Gorman offers readers an outstanding story of suspense, emotional struggles, and love. Wolf Island is definitely worth reading and has earned 5 Angels & a Recommended Read!
