Julianna Bentley has a secret that she has never told anyone, and that secret has lived to haunt her. With the help of her Aunt Mathilda, Julianna will have an escort from the English border to her friends. Laird Colin MacKinnon can’t believe his eyes when he sees the lass again. She is still breathtaking, even though her beauty is marred by the ugly bruise on her face. He can’t believe the anger that consumes him when he sees that someone hit her. Colin will take her to where she wants to go, but he vows to make sure the culprit pays for marking her. As soon as this mission is over he will be back to his life of feuding with his declared enemy, the MacFies.

Colin has vowed to never marry, and Julianna knows she could never endanger any man that she loved. Can these two let go of the past long enough to find love?

Warrior’s Pledge is definitely a book for any historical fan’s keeper shelf. It has been a long time since this reviewer has found a story to rival one from Julie Garwood or Teresa Medeiros, but Kara Griffin has done it!

Julianna and Colin are a couple to fall in love with. Colin is everything a Scottish warrior should be, and Julianna is just the woman to conquer him. The other characters also insert a dash of flair to the story, especially Bleeth, Julianna’s long time friend and protector adds a bit of humor with his magic tragedies. Ms. Griffin does an excellent job of creating a story which combines humor, romance, and a splash of adventure.
