Barbarians in the Republic: The Long Journey to Rome

Marcus’ marriage to the barbarian princess goes against every fiber of his being, but he is willing to follow through with it for the good of the Roman Republic. And therein begins his troubles.

Adriane has no love for her prudish, uptight husband and all of his strange rules. She’s got all she’ll ever need in her barbarian lover, Vaten, who satisfies every desire of her body. Confident and sensual, she completely wins over Marcus’ band of soldiers, and they all are in awe of her sexual power and stamina. As this story unfolds, the group of soldiers and Adriane’s personal entourage travel toward Rome, the commander Rufus becomes enchanted with Adriane, and his commitment to his duty wars with his passion for this uncivilized princess.

The group travels onward toward Rome, with the lusty and unrestrained bunch enjoying each other frequently, even as they add numbers to their company. It’s an endless cycle of friendship, sex, passion and a dizzying array of partners. Finally they come to the lady Daphne’s lush pleasure inn on the outskirts of Rome...and there they begin to further explore and enjoy all of the delights of the flesh.

Glancing at the title, you’d think that Barbarians in the Republic: The Long Journey to Rome was a story of war. You’d be sadly mistaken, as this tale explores the uptight and thinly veiled society of the Romans, while at the same time revealing the sensual underbelly of Rome’s barbarian neighbors. Skarr One pens a sexy and sultry story, weaving in bits and pieces of Roman culture and presenting some of the most scorching and titillating sensual scenes I’ve ever encountered. While enjoyable, this one could have done with a little more story and a little less sex, but Barbarians was well-written and entertaining. A historical buffet of ancient Roman civilization and social structure, Barbarians in the Republic: The Long Journey to Rome expertly details what actually happens behind closed doors.
