Moonlight Serenade
High school reunions - they’re a chance to revisit the past and renew old acquaintances, and an opportunity for second chances...
Caitlyn Thomas Walters grew up privileged and pampered in the lap of luxury. Despite her mother’s cruel, snobbish and unfeeling ways, Caitlyn matured into a lovely and caring young woman. On the brink of her future, though, something happened that would change her life forever and tear her from the boy she fell in love with. Now she’s back home again in Drummond, Maine, divorced and regretting her mistakes.
Composer Jason Maguire is the voice of Drummond After Dark, a sexy late-night radio show. He’s moved on from the naive boy he was into the deliciously handsome career man he is today. But something inside him yearns for the girl he once knew, the girl who holds his heart to this day. His twenty year class reunion is coming up – would she attend? Is there a chance for them to write another song into their repertoire or has their dance ended?
Moonlight Serenade is a story for anyone who ever wished that they could go back or dreamed of having a second chance. Chevon Gael sparkles in this sweet and poignant tale of love and loss, drawing you into the fabric of these two hurt and emotionally wounded people. Caitlyn and Jason have changed for the better, and it was endearing to see the vast amount of growth they experienced over the course of this story. The author uses flashbacks to her advantage, setting a wonderful flavor and tone to this short-ish story. I enjoyed all of the 80's references, and felt taken back in time to my own high school years. Chevon Gael expertly leads readers along, and I know you’ll love this bittersweet story of innocence lost and a deeper love found.
