Atalanta is a serious runner who never deviates from her training, ok, almost never. Mel is her downstairs neighbor and worships her. He loves her, but she can’t see past the next race. When Mel gets sick of the crumbs she gives him and wants more, a mysterious pop-up ad catches his attention.

Atalanta wakes up late one morning and takes the elevator instead of the stairs and ends up in a Greek wonderland. From ‘Bare Boy’ to ‘The Hooded Man’, the men of this new world have been given the task of racing her for her hand in marriage. If the man wins, he gets to marry Atalanta. An amazing romp through Greek mythology ensues. Atalanta decides to take things into her hot and eager little hands. With each man having a weakness, she plays to them, and finds a few of her own.

Elysian Games is a trip. This book was a lot of fun to read. Mel is one twisted man, but in a good way. I found myself cheering for him from the beginning. Atalanta was a little harder to relate to. Ms. Westerly does a great job painting the picture of Ancient Greece. The characters were quirky and that made this an all-around fun read.
