Seraphim

Gia Rossi knows that something is wrong with her husband. He has always had shady dealings, but she’s turned a blind eye to it; lately he’s been nervous and not himself. She knows better than to ask, but she can’t help worry. When a group of masked men steal into her estate and take her, the only thing she can think of is that her husband will save her.

Joachim is a seraphim, Michael’s right hand man, and Gia’s protector. When he sees her pacing her cell, he can’t help but feel something. What it is, he doesn’t know, but it’s different from any other time that he’s been in human form. Saving her soul so she can save the world is his mission and he will do it, regardless of his feelings.

Seraphim is a poignant tale of love and belief. The battle of good vs. evil is clearly outlined in the most basic sense; Michael’s warriors against Lucifer’s minions. Never has the struggle between the two factions been written of so imaginatively. Ms. Reed does a wonderful job of taking a romance and weaving it into a full-bodied love story. I really enjoyed Joachim’s struggle with his ‘human’ side and was surprised that I didn’t mourn the possibility that he would succumb. Gia was a powerful character that grew from page one into an amazing woman. This is a fabulous book and I hope that Ms. Reed writes more along this vein.
