Hearts On Fire
Brianna Jackson’s broken engagement brings her to her Aunt Emily’s house where she hopes to mend her broken heart and keep the temptation of taking back her ex-fiancé to a minimum. Brianna hasn’t been to visit her Aunt in a while but, they have always been very close. She cannot wait to catch up with her Aunt and Emily’s two best friends, Annabel and Josephine, whom she also considers her aunts.
Emily Dirkson is delighted that her niece Brianna is coming for a visit. She has been worried about her since they had found out that her fiancé had cheated on her and their engagement had been broken. Emily has made plans for their time together and is happy when Brianna decides to go out with her gardener, Chandler but, she also fears what will happen if Brianna discovers that Chandler had an affair with Josephine.
Brianna fell in love with Chandler during their short time together and is looking forward to making a life together with him when she discovers that her “Aunt” Jo and Chandler had slept together. Brianna cannot believe that she had been fooled again by a man and leaves her Aunt’s house immediately.
Chandler is in love with Brianna and wants to make it work with her but, she left with out speaking to him and will not return any of his calls. Can Chandler make her understand that there was nothing between him and Jo but a need, and it was over when he met her? Are these two meant to be alone and lonely or can they work out their problems and have a love they have always dreamed of?
Hearts on Fire, is a heart warming and charming tale of four women who have loved, lost and found themselves in a place to love again. The romance between the couples is hot, steamy and incredibly heartfelt. I thought this was a fabulous story that showed the different aspects of relationships, in various stages of development and portrayed them in such a true to life manner that you couldn’t help but love them all. Ms. Droney has a style of writing that’s smooth, compelling, classy, and leaves the reader feeling satisfied.
